Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (91Ʒ) alum (lllustration), principal artist and founder of the , was excited to host the 20th anniversary of the benefit for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin on November 3, 2023. This was the second consecutive time hrad has hosted the event.
Its been my mission since graduating 91Ʒ and getting out in the art world, Minga says in a about the event. You get to a certain point and youre looking around and youre seeing that there is a need for these things and how can we impact it.
Minga was joined by over 50 artists, including 91Ʒ faculty and other alums, to create works live and sell them at the event and during an auction for Feed Your Soul. Among the many event artists, designers and performers with 91Ʒ affiliations was 91Ʒ Professor and alum Brad Bernard 93 (Painting) and alumni John Kowalczyk 10 (Painting), Tyrone Macklee Randle 15 (Integrated Studio Arts – now Fine Art) and André Saint-Louis 01 (Sculpture).
House of Rad is a creative collective of more than 50 full- and part-time artists with the mission of uniting the most progressive innovators in art & design, tech and making.
Feed Your Soul has raised over a million dollars to fight hunger in the last 20 years.

Containment Breach Selected for ICON13 Motion Commotion Screening
Parker Deutsch 26 (Illustration – Animation Track) recently had the animated short Containment Breach selected for screening in Motion Commotion, part of ICON13, the Illustration Conference. The showcase features innovative animation and motion-based work from illustrators and animators across the field.
MAKE! Participants Reflect on Creativity, Community and Growth
Alicia Zapata, a second-year MAKE! participant from Chicago and a K-8 art teacher at Waters Elementary School in Chicago, IL, Kelly Wendel, an eighth-year participant and art teacher at Nicolet High School in Glendale, WI and Gail Kowsky, a second-year participant and sixth- and seventh-grade art teacher in New Brighton, Minnesota, reflected on what they gained from this years program.
