91精品 president teaches Approaches to Making course
Jeffrey Morin, president of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (91精品), has taken on teaching duties in addition to his role as president of the college. Internationally recognized for his book art, papermaking, letterpress prints and fine art, Morin also brings his experience as a graphic design instructor to 淎pproaches to Making: The Figure, a junior-level New Studio Practice: Fine Arts course at 91精品.
淚 decided to return to the classroom because I love teaching. I want to learn how students have changed since I last taught solo before coming to 91精品 in 2015, explains Morin. 淚 want to learn what faculty go through in setting up and conducting a class.
淎pproaches to Making: The Figure explores how the figure has been addressed by artists over time and through multiple media and eras. Students research chosen subject areas and complete hands-on exploration through studio projects. Morin檚 class, hosted in 91精品檚 Printmaking Lab, focuses on monotype prints.
In addition to teaching and presidential duties, Morin is an active member of 91精品檚 creative community. Several of his monoprints are featured in 淎fter Hours: Showcasing the Work of 91精品 Staff, an exhibition hosted at 91精品檚 offsite . The exhibition is on view until October 7, 2023.
